To students who want to work with me:

I am always looking for good PhD students to work with. I usually don’t accept Masters students except in extraordinary circumstances.

Students applying to Purdue:

If you are a student who is interested in (transportation) networks - connected/autonomous vehicles, smart mobility, resilience, logistics, game theory, the study of networks in other systems, or any of the other topics mentioned on my webpage, I highly encourage you to apply to Purdue. Please mark “Network Modeling” as your primary or secondary interest, and mention that you would like to work with me in your application. This will ensure that I see your application and it will be given full consideration. Please also feel free to email me if you have any questions. Note that I get a lot of email, and I am much more likely to respond to email which mentions something related to my general research interests. If you do not have strong mathematical background (optimization, data analytics, networks) and coding skills, you will not fit in my lab. If you have not read any of my work before, I will not be able to consider your application.

I do not offer summer internships to students who are not already at Purdue, so please do not email me about those.

Students already at Purdue:

Email me and come talk to me. However, unless you already have an extensive background in networks, data science and you have taken a course with me it is highly unlikely that I will consider you. After you see that you like the kinds of topics on my webpage, and are good at them, please come talk to me. A good time would be about half-way through the semester.
